All nations training day 18th April 2009
Thank you to all of those who attended the training last weekend. I hope that you all enjoyed the day, and that you had a chance to meet your coaches and team mates.
Judgine by the quality on show last Saturday we are in for a fantastic tournament. In the mens section, Italy looked strong, so to did Brazil, France and Africa. Late entrants New Zealand may be the ones to watch, choosing not to show their hand at the training, wanting to surprise everybody on the 9th.
The womens competition will be very tight with more teams than in previous years. Team Afro caribbeans last appearance in the tournament was in 2005, where the group stage victory over Italy (eventual winners) was Italys only defeat of the tournament. They have the numbers , the experience and the quality to go far. Italy will be looking to avenge their defeat in last years final and Americas will be out to retain the title. France, Europe and newly formed Team Med all look in good shape.

The Competition

The mens competition is tight at the top and could go anyway. Poland are dominating not having lost a match. Africa, Italy, Brazil and New Zealand are close behind and are still in contention for the top spot.

The womens competition is dominated by Italy, but do they have the consistency and depth to maintain the position in week 2?

We would like to have a bit of a get together at the Birdcage Pub sponsors of Team France on Saturday night. Afterwards why not try the Legion Bar in Shoreditch, sponsors of team Africa, contact me for datails.

Playing and Team Officiating Schedule now online!

1 May 2008
We have been working hard to get sponsors and a few more have come on board. Please visit Sponsors page.

Most teams are full, shirts are looking good, who willget the lime green or pink?

There is still space in the UK men and the Cz/Slovak women team.

Due to the increase in the number of teams and the wish to remain true to volleyball (not timed sets or 2 set matches), the tournament times have been extended. First game starts at 10.00am and last game will start at 19.00.

Last year we were able to negotiate free car parking for the Sunday, unfortunately the contract for the school has changed and this facility is no longer available. We can reserve places and push you forward in the queue but there will be a charge of 3. This is not my charge, it is the charge that the school make for the car parking. I am still trying to negotiate for the rear car park to be opened for us and will keep you informed. Public transport seems to be a good option and will allow you to drink at the Birdcage (Sponsor team France) and party at the Legion (Sponsor Team Africa)

If anybody is interested in learning how to keep electronic stats please let me know asap as we will be holding a training session on Next week.

Winners of the Nick James Sandals are Mariania Cohen, Diego Caielli, Kristina Podkolicka, Slim Tlilli, Aurore Modestus. One more draw this weekend.

Entry Deadline
The application form will be withdrawn from the site tomorrow (17th April 2008) at 9pm and entries will only be allowed in exceptional circumstances.
One major reason for this is that i need to order playing shirts and get them printed and also this year sponsored teams will also receive a warm up shirt, which again needs a lead in time to get them printed.

14 January 2008
The All Nations Volleyball Tournament is back for 2008 .
The year has gone so quickly and the volleyball season is more than half way through. This can only mean that the All Nations is nearby.

This year I am trying to obtain sponsorship for each team and hopefully will be able to give named team shirts, a team raffle, food vouchers and others, but I need your help. I need to know if you intend to enter so that I can target suitable companies based on the the countries that I have entered. If I know that I have a French team then I can look for a French sponsor.

I am not going to take money from you at this stage, I simply want an email saying that you are planning to play. Also if you are aware of any company that is willing to sponsor a team and would like to be included in the publicity, banners etc. then please let me know.

The price of the tournament has not yet been decided, but it will be similar to last year. The website will carry all of the updated info within the next 2 weeks.

Please can you send an email to allnations@volleyfirst.co.uk stating your name, country and gender.

I am planning a few new additions to the tournament which will enhance your enjoyment of the tournament.
